The eggs of an insect on the underside of a leaf. These are possibly the eggs of Orgyia antiqua, the Rusty Tussock Moth.

These strange growths on the leaves of a city street tree (Crimean Linden, Tilia x euchlora) are the galls created by a mite in the Eriphyes genus (probably Eriophyes tiliae).

There’s still at least another three weeks until the first chicks hatch, but this morning I took a walk across the Granville Street Bridge to check in on some of the nest locations. Most of the traditional locations had brooding birds. I also found a new nest location that should provide some good photographs.
