The Robin sings Spring into being

Trumpeter Swan

We’ve survived through winter only to be terrorized by spring. The leaky boat we’re all trapped on is maintained by rabid, greedy men who only know how to use a drill.

I don’t know how you’re coping… perhaps teaching yourself how to make IEDs and Molotov cocktails?

I’m escaping into books, math, music, deep time, and the remaining shards of the natural world. I’m worried part of our cultural collapse is that we no longer have to remember or find the words to describe our experiences. We take a mediocre photo on our phone or search google for an answer. Our language weakens and withers and with it our connections to the world and to others.

I recently discovered Zuzana Růžičková, one of the great hapsichordists of the 20th century and an astonishing woman who survived more than most of us can imagine. I urge you to watch this three minute youtube video about her.
